Christmas in Non-Traditional Colors!

Hi everybody! Do you love to shake it up a bit with Christmas cards in non-traditional colors, or do you stick to the traditional red and green? I love to shake it up! Leslie here with you today sharing a pretty purple and teal Christmas card! This card features our Silver Glitter cardstock (colored with alcohol markers) which I paired with our Bright Silver Foil cardstock.

Create the Flower Embellishment

I used the Sizzix Seasonal Sketch Thinlits to die cut the base petals, berries and leaves from Silver Glitter cardstock, and colored the pieces with purple and teal alcohol markers. Next, I die cut the outlines from Bright Silver Foil cardstock which yielded some really pretty contrast against the glitter cardstock.

Cut the Card Base & Layers

I cut the card base at 3-1/2″ x 6″ which is my favorite mini slim size. I’ve used White 110# Basis cardstock for the card base. I used Dark Purple Basis cardstock to cut an inside embellishing strip as well as the front and inside layering panels using the Waffle Flower Mini Slimline Layers die set. Slightly smaller front and inside layering panels were cut from our White 80# Basis cardstock which is the perfect layering weight.

I also cut an inside embellishing strip from Silver Glitter cardstock and colored it with the teal alcohol marker. I chose a pretty teal and purple ribbon scrap to recycle for this project.

Assemble the Card

Next came the fun part of putting it all together. I assembled the pieces for the flower embellishment. Next, I adhered the ribbon and embellishing strips to the front and inside panels, and adhered the panels together.

I adhered the die cut flower and berries to the card front along with tiny gemstones added to the center of the flower for a bit more bling. Similarly, I added silver foiled sentiments to the front and inside panels.

In conclusion, I adhered the front and inside panels to the card base. Next, I added several small gemstones to the card front, which completed the project. Love how this turned out!
