Snow Day

Snow Day

Today I am sharing a cute, fun way to send a photo in a card. This Snow Day photo card can be stood on a table, mantle, end table, or just about anywhere. Perfect for those out of town relatives! This was super easy to put together. For the design files go to SVGcuts.com and create along! I created another card from this same collection Here.

Snow Day Cardstock:

Here is a list of the colors I decided to use for this project. I choose my pattern paper first, from the Simple Stories Feelin’ Frosty, and pulled colors from that.

Stardream Metallic Rose Quartz

Astrobright Lunar Blue
Basis Grey
Classic Crest Solar White

With the colors chosen, it was time to cut all the pieces out. I always cut everything out first, it makes it easier to assemble when you have everything right there.

Assembling:

Starting with the front piece and using some Vicki Boutin Iridescent glaze with a sparkle stencil, I added some mixed media to the front. Once this is all dry, using some double sided tape, I added my photo. Make sure to poke a hole for the brad the mittens hang from.

To make sure that you have enough room, add the banner first. I also added my brad and the string. The mittens can always be arranged. The banner I used some foam dots to lift it up and give dimension.

Adding the mittens.. I decided after I glued them together to use some oxide ink to highlight the embossing I did on them. I glued the string to one mitten, and then glued the mittems together so they looked like the ones you have as a child. They go inside your coat so you don’t lose them. I thought this was a perfect detail for this photo of my niece.

Before finishing off the front, I adhered the front piece to the back piece. After they dried, I added the 2 inside pieces, keeping it looking neat and tidy. You can stamp your greeting, or write here so when your down its just the final details.

Final Touches:

For my final touches I added some details on the star, some fun acrylic stars and a mitten flair from ScrappinHappy Studio. Using some Nuvo drops, I added some additional details to the greeting and also around the photo. Last, and certainly not least, some silver sequins.

For those of us that have yet to get snow, I hope this brings a smile and gets you ready for some fun winter projects! Share your projects, I would love to see! Happy Crafting!
