The Elements

Black Licorice Discount Cardstock was perfect for the base pieces as well as many of the embellishments. Savoy 100% Cotton Cardstock is perfect for ink smooshing.

Cut two pieces of black cardstock. on one piece, center a circle die and cut the window piece. Score both pieces in the center and set aside.

The Savoy Paper is perfect for ink smooshing techniques. Create a spooky sky by ink smooshing Pumice Stone and Wilted Violet Distressed inks on a 5.5 by 8.5 piece of the Savoy 100% Cotton Cardstock. Be sure the paper is dried completely before stamping and embossing the spooky house from Stampers Anonymous on the cardstock.

Royal Sundance Sunflower Fiber Cardstock provides a great soft yellow color for the moon and the sentiment strips. Ink Smoosh Pumice Stone Distress Ink on these pieces to provide texture. Once dry, add a few spooky sentiments.

Cut additional pieces from the Black Licorice Cardstock including the gate, the haunted house, the trick or treaters and a few bats. Use Cougar 110 lb. cardstock to cut a few ghosts. Use Collage Medium and Black Glitter from Ranger to add even more texture.

Assemble the Interactive Halloween Card Front

Trim the purple smooshed Savoy Cardstock to allow a 1/4 inch border on the black base front (3.75 x 5.0 inches). Attach to the black base and glue the Trick or Treaters and the folded sentiment strip on the front.

Assemble the Inside

Cut an additional 4 x 5 piece of the purple ink smooshed Savoy Cardstock and score down the center. Attach to the center of the black card base.

Attach the yellow moon to the upper left circle cut out. Add the haunted house to the far right side of the inside piece allowing it to float in the center when the card is opened.

The moon and the house are attached to the center, making sure the house floats and does not get bent when the card is closed.

The Final Finishes

The final finishes for our Interactive Halloween Card include the gate, a few bats, the spooky ghosts and the sentiment strip. Attach these pieces to the card. I like the floating ghosts, especially the one coming up for the gate.
