Joy Mini Slimline Card

Hey, y’all! Laura here from Soul Shine Designs. Today I have my first slimline card. Now, this is a mini slimline card. Slimline cards give me anxiety. They are a much bigger canvas which can be overwhelming. Taylored Expressions have come out with a whole line of mini slimline cards. So while watching some crafty videos from them, I told myself I can give this a shot. This size slimline is a great way to dip your crafty fingers in.

So my card is 100% inspired by this wall decor piece from Hobby Lobby. I took the measurement for this mini slimline from Taylored Expressions. The card measures 3.75 x 6.75 inches. Since I didn’t have any black and white plaid pattern paper, I found a free image on Google and printed out onto Royal Sundance cardstock. I trimmed that down to 3.5 x 6.5 inches. This gives about 1/8 inch white border.

I used my Silhouette to cut the letters out of Habanero Red Cardstock and used a regular hole punch for the berries. I found small foliage die in my stash and cut them out Bonsai Green Cardstock four times. Added some foam strips onto the letters and centered them on the card vertically. Then added the foliage and berries above the letter Y with liquid glue.

For the final touches, I added some silver sequins and that’s the finished card. If you have never done a slimline card or scared to, try this mini size. Make sure you leave a comment below if you like this card and to follow CutCardStock and me on social media.
