S’more Tent Treat Holder

Hello CutCardStock crafters!  I’m Maureen (Mo) and I’m thrilled to join the design team blog this season.  I’m going to admit something – I really don’t like camping.  But, I do like s’mores!  I might be talked into camping if I could take chocolate with me.  So, I’m sharing a s’mores party favor that would be an easy item to make for any camping adventure or party!

I started with a sheet of textured Adobo card stock, cut to a 6×11 size.  This color is a perfect match to our tent at home!  With a scoring board, I made fold lines at the 3 ½, 7 and 10 ½ inch marks on the long side of the paper and one at the 2 inch mark on the short side.

Next, I trimmed off the 2 end squares on the long side of the paper, and cut the middle pieces at 2 angles, as shown in the picture. These become the doors of the tent. To give them a different color, I cut out the exact sizes of those doors in Royal Sundance FELT Natural and glued them to the doors.

Time to assemble the tent! I folded the tent into a triangle shape, adhering the short edge to the inside with a thin layer of paper glue. After letting it dry, I poked a hole on both sides of the tent and doors, and inserted a small brad to pin them back. I rolled the corners around a pencil and the fabric look to this paper makes it look more like tent material!

For the s’mores sleeping bag, I used a basic sandwich bag, laying the crackers, chocolate and marshmallow side by side like a bed and taping down the edges.  If you buy the flat, square marshmallows – they look just like a pillow!

The sleeping bag is a 3 1/2 by 4 inch piece of Vanilla Bean Brown taped across the s’more pack to look like bedding, and a buffalo print stamp on a small strip of Habanero to look like a flannel edge. You can use pop dots to give it dimension.

The final embellishments at the end are a tree punched out with Bonsai, and a word balloon die cut and stamped on Classic Linen Solar White. I took a sponge and some black chalk to the edges to give it a more rustic finish.

After you eat the s’more, you can save the tent to use as a tea light holder too. I guess I’m ready to go camping! These would be fun in so many of the other CutCardStock colors.  What events would you make this for and what colors would you use?  Leave me a comment and let me know!

  1. This is adorable! What’s fun way to start fall. I am ready for cool weather and campfires. I would use it as a party favor for a back yard bbq!
