How to Create a Beautiful Note Card

Who doesn’t need note cards in their stash… beautiful and elegant note cards? The card I’m sharing with you today features a pretty starburst background created with CCS Gold Glitter cardstock and Curious Metallic Gold Leaf cardstock!

Despite its looks, this really is an easy card to create.

Start by creating a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Classic Crest Baronial Ivory cardstock along with an extra panel for the front and two for the inside.

Next, cut strips between 3″ and 5″ long from the gold glitter and the gold leaf cardstock. The strips can be 1/2″, 3/4″ or 1″ wide, depending on the size of your card; 3/4″ strips were used here.

Then cut each strip in half diagonally, from top right down to the bottom left. It’s best to cut a few and then cut a few more as you need them so no cardstock is wasted.

Now comes the fun part of adhering the strips to the front panel to form the starburst. Pick a place to start and then work your way around the panel, leaving a very thin border between the strips.

Next, die-cut a stitched oval to cover the pointed ends, adhere a die-cut sentiment to the oval and trim the right side of the oval even with the right side of the panel. Adhere the panel to the card base and add a few tiny gold flat-back pearls.

The final step is to adhere leftover strips of the gold glitter and the gold leaf cardstock down the left side of the inside panel. Layer this panel onto another ivory panel for some tone-on-tone interest, and then adhere the panel to the inside of the card base. Since this is a notecard, the inside is left blank.
