How To Create A Simple But Dynamic Set Of Cards
Hello, CutCardStock fans! Leslie here, and thanks so much for joining me on the blog today! Who doesn’t need ‘thinking of you’ cards in their stash? Sometimes just letting someone know they’re in your thoughts means the absolute world to them. The cards I’m sharing with you today feature bold and beautiful Pop-Tone colors and a clean and simple design that packs a punch!
When creating a set of cards, I always work in assembly-line fashion. I cut all the standard size A2 top-fold card bases from Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock. I cut the inside panels from Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock. I cut a background panel to cover the front of each card base from Pop-Tone Grape Jelly cardstock, Pop-Tone Orange Fizz cardstock, Pop-Tone Razzleberry cardstock, and Pop-Tone Wild Cherry cardstock along with a layer to adhere beneath the inside panel and three sentiment die cuts for each card. I also got out a roll of pretty floral Washi Tape to embellish the interior panels (which we’ll do in a few minutes).
I die cut the sentiment into each background panel, reserving the little pieces from inside the loops of all the letters. This created a total of four die-cut sentiments.
I adhered all the positive pieces back into the negative space on the background panel. Then I adhered the three remaining die-cut sentiments on top of one another and adhered them on top of the original die-cut sentiment on the background. I repeated this process for the remaining three cards.
Then I worked on the inside panels. I added Washi Tape and a strip of cardstock to each inside panel, and stamped the sentiment in black ink and layered the panel on matching cardstock.
The final step was adding several dots of Crystal Drops to the front of each card for a little interest, still keeping the design clean and simple.
