Won’t You Be Mine?

It’s Valentine card making time–another fun season for card makers! I thought I’d go out of the box and create a Valentine’s Day card using some colors other than red. I was actually inspired by a wall we have in our house that features some blue and gold accents.

I started off with an A2 sized card I made using Lunar Blue Astrobright card stock and added some heat embossed hearts from Lawn Fawn using gold embossing powder.

I wanted to keep the card one layer, so to add a little interest, I heat embossed some more hearts on to the card directly as well as additional hearts I trimmed out and popped up with foam tape. I stamped a simple sentiment on to a rectangle of Cougar White Super Smooth card stock and added that with some foam tape.

Keeping the hearts in a design triangle pattern keeps the layout “pleasing to the eye”.

Be sure to head over to the CutCardstock shop to see all the colors in the Astrobright line–one of my personal favorites.
