Embossed Background Father’s Day Card

Hi crafty friends!
Well, now that we are past Mother’s day we need to start thinking about those Father’s day cards. So today I have a Father’s day card to share with everyone.
I started by die cutting a 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ stitched rectangle out of Basis cardstock in Natural
Then I ran that rectangle through my die cutting machine with an embossing folder.

To add some depth and dimension and help the embossing pop, I inked over it with some Distress Ink.
After my background was done, I die cut two different sized stitched octagons out of Basis cardstock in Natural.

For the larger octagon, I added ink around the edge with one of the three colors used on the background. I will be using the larger octagon to matte the smaller one.
For the smaller octagon, I stamped the sentiment “Happy Father’s Day” on to the center in VersaFine black ink.
I layered everything and then adhered the whole panel to a Blank white A2 folded card base. As a last little finishing touch I glued some sequins to the card.
Thanks for stopping by today.
