Heart Strings

Hi there! Hannah here, new Design Team Member for CutCardstock.com, blogger at Fanciful Spaces. Thank you so much for joining me today!

I was really excited about this month’s Design Team assignment, we were tasked with creating a project with the Curious Metallic Cardstock that CutCardStock sells. Let me just share, I had never used this cardstock before, but I’m IN LOVE with it now!

This cardstock has such a delightful shimmer to it, and it is 89# meaning that it has a great weight for a card base. I can honestly say that I think I’ll be switching my card bases to this over my Neenah. The shimmer just adds that extra special something. Like the cherry on top of a sundae.

My background is in card making, but I’ve recently been wanting to branch out into some more mixed media projects. I thought that Tim Holtz’s Sizzix 3D Faceted Heart Dies was the perfect tool to showcase the glowing shimmer of this cardstock.

I used the smallest of the Faceted Heart Dies, some Catherine Pooler Ink, and Nuvo Drops/Glitter to create this charming mobile. When the air moves through this, it shimmers and shines so much thanks to the cardstock and the crystals hanging on it.

Check out this video that I made to help showcase how I made this:
