For my next card, I decided to do something more basic. This is a really fun technique I picked up from other crafters who like to do one-layer cardmaking.
I started by stamping images from a stamp set onto Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock. I colored with Copic markers and added dots with a dark gray marker. I die-cut the sentiment from Silk Glitter Kings Crown Gold Cardstock.
I added a strip of Silk Glitter Kings Crown Gold Cardstock to the left side of my card base and then glued the colored piece over it. Then I popped up the sentiment with foam tape for dimension. For some reason, every time I die-cut sentiments that have the dots for the sentiments, I seem to lose them. I end up using Nuvo drops to finish off the “i” in the sentiment.
Creating your own backgrounds is fun, and the possibilities are limitless. The gold glitter is perfect for sentiments and adding sparkle to your cards.
