Happy March friends!! kel here to share my first post here at the CutCardStock blog!!! Can I just share how *squeeeee!* excited I am to be here and share some fun projects with you all?!?
For my first project today I’m sharing a simple sympathy card featuring some colors from the Curious Metallic line!! And I apologize for the shadows in some of my pictures… we just finished our window renovations and I’m still trying to figure out how to deal with the new way the light comes into the room lol!!
I took some fun circle stamps in some matching ink colors and stamped around on the 89# Poison Ivory card front in a random-ish pattern. Make sure to put some scratch paper down when you stamp off the edge so you don’t have ink everywhere lol!!
The last thing I stamped was a 1″ scrap of 111# Nude, cut into a little flag banner and then stamped on with a simply beautiful sympathy sentiment.
I then glued everything together, centering all the panels and then adding the sentiment banner to the top right corner of the card.
I always struggle with sympathy cards because I tend to always make them floral or kind of dull and colorless. So it was a challenge for me to do something different, and I have to say that I’m really happy with how it came out!!
And I like that there’s a little flare of shimmer to the card too… I’m always afraid of adding too many embellishments but then afraid that it’s too boring without it… so this little bit of shimmer is just perfect!
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you come back soon!! And make sure to check out the CutCardStock Facebook Page to see what else the Design Team is up to and to make sure to stay up-to-date with the latest CutCardStock.com sale!!
