I love making books from envelopes and cards. The great thing is that by changing the size of the envelopes and cards you can customize your mini book. It is easy to create pockets and flaps. The possibilities are endless.
Here are a few pages from the mini book. I used papers from Authentique’s Heritage collection.
Here is how I started the Mini Book. I trimmed one folded card to 5 1/4″ X 4 1/4″ and scored it at 7/8″, 1″, 1 3/4″, 2 1/2″, 2 5/8″, 3 3/8″, 4 1/8″ 4 1/4”(center), 5″, 5 3/4″, 5 7/8″, 6 5/8″, 7 3/8″, 7 1/2″.
For the first signature, I attached two envelopes the the flaps together. Then I added a folded card on the back of each envelope.
The second signature is just a card folded towards the front. The third signature is envelope opened at the bottom and slipped over the spine. The envelope flap is glued only on the sides to form a pocket.
The last signature starts with an envelope attached to the spine with the flap up. A folded card is attach the the flap to form a pocket. The envelope also forms a hidden pocket. A second folded card is attached to the back of the envelope so it opens like a book.
I attached chipboard covers (4 1/2″ x 6″).
Hope you enjoyed the mini book. I will be adding photos of the “Moms” in my life.
